Diabetes mellitus is the most common metabolic disease worldwide.
Type 2 diabetes in particular is increasing rapidly worldwide. Due to modern lifestyle, too little exercise and too much and fatty food, the number of people suffering from diabetes is increasing.
There are about 800,000 people in Austria suffering from diabetes mellitus. However, about 294,000 of these people are still undiagnosed. The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) estimates that in 2040 a total of about 642 million people worldwide could suffer from a glucose metabolism disorder.*

The following signs can indicate a metabolic disorder or diabetes:
Anadipsia
Increased urination
Tiredness, weariness
Dramatic weight loss
Skin inflammation, pruritus
Bad wound-healing
